Overview: Under the direction of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, the committee is responsible for standardization in the area of Cloud Computing and Distributed Platforms, including but not limited to Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), Service Level Agreements (SLAs), interoperability and portability, and the management of data and its flow across devices and cloud services. The committee mirrors and engages with the work of ISO/IEC JTC 1/SC 38 on Cloud Computing and Distributed Platforms, and CEN/CLC JTC 25 on Data Protection, Privacy and Identity Management in the European context. It ensures strategic alignment with both international and European standardization efforts, supporting coherence in areas such as cloud architecture, virtualisation, distributed computing, and privacy- enhancing technologies. The committee provides the UK input into international and regional standards and promotes the development and adoption of robust, transparent, and interoperable cloud and distributed computing standards across public, private, and hybrid environments.
