With the growing importance and expanding adoption of cloud computing, there is a need to demonstrate that requirements specified in standards relating to products, systems and services are fulfilled. These requirements include the concepts of trust and trustworthiness. Technologies such as cloud computing are supporting digital business models with the delivery of on-demand computing services, enabling businesses to leverage resources that in many cases are maintained and served by their cloud service providers (CSPs) or 3rd party cloud vendors. There is a renewed industry emphasis and interest in establishing confidence and assurance of these products and services in the face of managing increasing threats and risks. This document will provide characteristics and a framework to utilize in assessing trustworthiness.
