Scope

Purpose

Dried chive is used in form of broken and ground condiment and culinary herb in traditional dishes in France, Sweden and Iran. Dried chive is popular in cookery and used for pancakes, soups, fish, stew. The taste of dried chive is close to onion, shallot, leek, with more gentle taste. The consumption of this culinary herb is increasing and there is no International standard for it. So an international standard is needed for this product that would be used as a reference for exporters and importers. It helps to stakeholders for fair trade and both parties buyers and sellers will benefit. Meanwhile, this standard will help align conflicting guidance for International trade of this product. Publishing such a standard helps parties, producers and stakeholder, for better understanding about the specification of this condiment. It will help by covering the needs of suppliers and stakeholders for international trade and it makes the business easier and safer for both parties.
