This includes analytical methods for microbiological and molecular testing, through to best practice for assessing and managing microbiological risks in water systems. In addition, it provides input into European and International Standards development through active participation in CEN and ISO working groups within CEN/TC 230 and ISO/TC 147/SC 4. The committee is comprised of water quality experts in the field of water microbiology and water quality who are representatives of relevant stakeholder groups, and also of individual experts who bring specific skills and experience that are required by the committee to develop standards. The committee has a varied work programme, usually with British Standards and ISO Standards at various stages of development, from proposal and inception through to standards under systematic review and standards in active drafting. The committee generally meets twice per year.
