Draft Decision C07/2023 - Adoption of a PWI Food authenticity — Sample preparation for isotope ratio analysis of fruit and vegetable juices and related products

Scope

This European standard covers analytical sample preparation of fruit and vegetable juices and related products for the C, N and H isotope ratios analysis, by elemental analyser-isotope ratio mass spectrometry (EA-IRMS) or irm-²H-NMR. 

Sample measurement is not included within this European standard. The interpretation of the obtained isotope delta values is not covered by this European standard.

Purpose

A method for the sample preparation for isotope ratio analysis of fruit and vegetable juices and related products has been validated by mean of a ring trial, thus being important to be harmonized at European level.
