This document is a guidelines for qualifying PV modules for increased hail resistance. It exposes modules to additional hail tests prior to environmental stress tests and compares the additional power loss to reference modules.
IEC 61730 series and IEC 61215 series test for the ability of PV modules to withstand a defined hail impact. There's increased industry interest to evaluate the ability to withstand higher hail impact for hail-prone regions and to quantify power loss.
