CEN/TC 275 N2211 Draft Decision C04/2020 Adoption of NWI for revision & conversion of CEN/TS 15634-4:2016 "Foodstuffs - Detection of food allergens by molecular biological methods - Part 4: Peanut (Arachis hypogaea) - Qualitative detection of a specific DNA sequence in chocolate by real-time PCR"

Scope

This method describes a procedure for the qualitative detection of peanut (Arachis hypogaea) in chocolate using real-time PCR based on the gene for the peanut allergen Ara h 2 [4, 5].

Purpose

The revision and conversion of a CEN/TS into an EN.

The interlaboratory studies of the CEN/TS 15634-4 were done without certified reference material, so that the recommendation from EN 15634-1 to specify the limit of detection by conversion of the copy number into an absolute amount (mg/kg) of the analyte cannot be carried out. Therefore we want to add data from interlaboratory studies from the German collection of methods for sampling and testing.

Also, describing the method validation more in detail.
