Find out what cookies we use and how to disable themThis part of ISO 5565 specifies requirements for vanilla belonging to the species Vanilla fragrans (Salisbury) Ames, syn. Vanilla planifolia Andrews; and Vanilla tahitensis (Vanilla × tahitensis JW Moore).
This part of ISO 5565 is applicable to vanilla in beans, whole or not, or in powder. It is not applicable to vanilla extracts.
NOTE This vanilla is commonly known under the names associated with its geographic origin, mainly from Madagascar, Comores and Reunion (so called Bourbon), Indonesian, Mexican, Tonga, Indian, Chinese and Ugandan vanilla for Vanilla planifolia and Tahiti and Papua New Guinea for Vanilla tahitensis.
