Overview: Under the direction of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, L/13 to be responsible for a) coordinating smart grids & energy systems information across relevant BSI committees and other sources as a horizontal ‘systems’ committee; b) providing guidance on developing standards to address gaps in the energy system standards portfolio, for instance, the full suite of standards required to support smart vehicle charging; c) advising BSI committees on national requirements relating to energy system standardization, including interactions between energy systems (e.g. electricity, gas, heat, communications, cyber security), and assessing ways to address them (including learning’s from UK innovation projects); d) advising external stakeholders of the energy systems standards landscape; e) representing energy systems standardization in the wider smart agenda, including smart homes and buildings standards related to energy systems management; f) marketing the role for standards to encourage standardization support and resource; g) mirroring IEC SyC Smart Energy
