Overview: Under the direction of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, is responsible for the UK input to CEN/TC 459/SC 10, CEN/TC 360, ISO/TC 5/SC 1, ISO/TC 5/SC 5, ISO/TC 17/SC 19 and ISO/TC 67/SC 2/WG 14 and standards for carbon and alloy steel tubes (excluding structural) for both general engineering and pressure purposes. It includes the work of CEN/TC 165/WG 7 Waste water engineering - Steel pipes. It excludes the work of PSE/17 and MCE/8 and line-pipe for oil and gas. It is also responsible for stainless steel tubes and fittings for hygiene/food preparation purposes. It is responsible for standards for protective coatings and linings for pipes and fittings, for threads and thread gauging and for metallic fittings including compression. It includes continuous NDT. It excludes cast iron fittings.
