Internal corrosion in steel pipeline is a fact of life. The effect of these corrosive species on internal surfaces is one of the major issues in Corrosion preventive In the Oil and Gas industries. It has been noticed that there is no ISO Standard covering the requirements of internal coating for steel pipe for petroleum industry. As this subject is required by international contractors and operators for upstream projects, recently high demand on project specification on this subject was observed. Inadequate coating application, poor materials quality and poor inspection/testing criteria, in general lead to corrosion problems, cost implications and danger to people and the environment. A world-wide standard is needed to address these issues. Based on the above, it is important to have an ISO Standard on this subject
