Overview: Under the direction of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, is responsible for the UK input to the development and adoption of standards from ISO/TC 58, CEN/TC 23, and for national and other standards related to gas cylinders and other pressure receptacles, their fittings and requirements relating to their manufacture and use. It excludes cryogenic vessels and aerosol containers. NOTE 1 Pressure receptacles, cryogenic receptacles and aerosols are defined in the International regulations for the transport of dangerous goods by sea, air, road and rail and in the United National Recommendations on the Transport of Dangerous Goods, Model Regulations (ST/SG/AC.10/1 as amended from time to time) NOTE 2 PVE/3 manages sub-committees which have the delegated responsibility for: • Cylinder valves (PVE/3/1); • Cylinder design, manufacture and testing (PVE/3/3); • Cylinder operations (PVE/3/7); and • Hydrogen technologies (PVE/3/8)
