Concerning proposed change to 6.2.10.2.1, second to last paragraph:
The gas pressure depends on the temperature. Therefore, comparable standards (EN 12245, EN 12357, ISO 11119- series) require for the sequence of low temperature cycle test at -40°C a maximum pressure of at least working pressure, which equals the pressure at 15°C. For the simulation of operational conditions it is not appropriate to require the increased pressure level as developed under the temperature of +65°C for the test sequence at -40°C during the extreme temperature cycle test.
(The phrase “approximately equal to atmospheric pressure” as it is written in EN 17339 gives a wide range of interpretation. 20 bars is even applicable when looking into realistic applications as requested in several standards. In addition, test facilities where the tests are carried out are not able to reach atmospheric pressure. This is not technically feasible.
Concerning proposed change to A.2.4, Table A.1:
The first 3 rows of the table contains: Carbon fibre tensile properties, Shear properties and Matrix properties. The scope of this document is only for composites with carbon fibre, why the following 7 rows duplicate the first 3 rows. Although a reference to chapter 6.2.1.1 is needed...
Concerning proposed change to A.3.4, Table A.5:
Add: “changed by ≤ 5 %” at Table A.5 like described at A.2.2 h) to prevent misunderstanding – limitations for other requirements are given as well in table A.5.
