Standards Development
This document applies to flat non-rewirable two-pole plugs without earthing contact with a rated voltage of 250 V AC and a rated current of 2,5 A. They are intended for the connection of equipment of Class II, for household and similar purposes. They have no protection against ingress of water and are intended for indoor use. Plug portions of adaptors or equipment, such as razors, plug-in power supplies, etc., shall comply with the requirements of this document as far as they reasonably apply. Plugs according to this standard are only intended to be part of an equipment produced by a manufacturer. This document does not apply to: - rewirable plugs; - socket-outlets. Plugs complying with this document are suitable for use at ambient temperatures not normally exceeding +40 °C, but their average temperature over a period of 24 h does not exceed +35 °C, with a lower limit of the ambient air temperature of −5 °C.
Purpose is to update the present edition from 1990 in accordance with the latest edition of the international standard for plugs for household.
