Scope

This part of IEC 60728 is applicable to the optical transmission system for transmitting broadcast signals from the receiving point of terrestrial digital broadcasting to the Gap -filler transmission facility in the operation of a Gap-filler system. This optical transmission system applies to outdoor optical transmission systems for broadcast signal transmission, consisting of optical transmitters, optical amplifiers, splitters, optical receivers, etc.

Purpose

These systems are intended for the transmission of video and audio signals using terrestrial digital broadcasting systems via optical fiber (optical transmission). This document specifies the basic configuration, system parameters, measurement methods of t he optical transmission system between the receiving point of broadcast waves and the Gap-filler transmission facility and evaluates the system's performance and performance limits.
