This standard specifies definition and requirements of the bidirectional wireless power transfer (BWPT) for electric vehicles. The aspects covered in this standard include the safety of the system and parts in bidirectional wireless power transfer system.

Purpose

As the spread customers and growing market of bidirectional wireless charging for electric vehicles continue, the development of bidirectional wireless power transfer (BWPT) technologies for electric vehicles are getting growing. This causes the necessity for standard for bidirectional wireless power transfer (BWPT) for electric vehicles. This standard specifies the requirements of magnetic-field bidirectional wireless power transfer for electric vehicles. It specifies the safety and interoperability requirements of bidirectional wireless power transfer for electric vehicles including the integration requirements with power supply grid network.
