This part of CISPR 14 specifies the requirements that apply to the emission of radio-frequency disturbances in the frequency range 9 kHz to 400 GHz from professional appliances, electric tools and similar apparatus which are intended to be operated only in commercial and light industrial locations (see 3.2.1)
This work was agreed at the meeting of CISPR/F WG1 in Frankfurt in November 2023. The limits in CISPR 14-1 for equipment operated in commercial and in light-industrial environment are not aligned with the emission limits in the generic standard in IEC 61000-6-8.
Based on the discussions in the WG1 in San Francisco (2022) and Frankfurt (2023), CISPR/F WG1 decided to split the CISPR 14-1 publication into a dedicated product emission standard for residential equipment (remaining as CISPR 14-1) and a new product emission standard for commercial and light industrial equipment (to be numbered CISPR 14-3). It was felt that this approach would offer much better clarity to the users of the standard. The attached draft is the outline of CISPR 14-3 prepared by TF group within CISPR/F WG1.
The following table provides a summary of the proposed update to the scope of the standards in the CISPR 14 series:
Household appliances, electric tools, toys and fence energizers / Professional appliances for use in residential locations /Professional appliances and electric tools for use only in commercial and light industry locations
Emission CISPR 14-1 / CISPR 14-1 / CISPR 14-3
Immunity CISPR 14-2 / CISPR 14-2 / CISPR 14-2
