Scope

This Technical Specification provides the required Performance Level (PLr), according to EN ISO 13849 1:2023, for safety related parts of the control system (SRP/CS) of self-loading mobile concrete mixers as defined in prEN 18142:2025.

Purpose

During Enquiry, prEN 18142:2025 received a HAS-comment:

"There is no provision on the required performance levels. The risk assessments necessary to determine the required performance levels according EN ISO 13849-1:2023, 5.3, cannot be delegated to the user of this Type-C document, but must be part of it. Please provide required performance levels for all safety functions listed in this document in clause 4.

" To solve this issue without delaying the publication and harmonization prEN 18142, WG 8 decided to use a TS to determine performance levels for Self-loading mobile concrete mixers (SLM).
