Scope

The proposal is applicable to the evaluation of biological deodorization treatment technology for odor in sludge disposal process.

Purpose

This proposal mainly aims to standardize the biological deodorization technology for odors during the sludge disposal process, and promote the compatibility and integration of already available evaluation standards for different treatment processes in different countries. With the advancement of industrialization and urbanization, the daily production of urban sludge is increasing, and the odor generated during the sludge disposal process due to its complex conditions and high disposal requirements has posed challenges to the development of relevant technologies in various countries. This also increases the difficulty of odor control in the sludge disposal process. Proper disposal of odor has become an unavoidable challenge. The harmless disposal of sludge is also the trend of its future development. It is worth noting that to ensure the safety of the odor generated by sludge during the disposal process, it is necessary to collect, analyze, and standardize the disposal of odor. However, there are significant technological gaps in these areas among different countries, which makes it is difficult to horizontally compare the odor disposal methods prescribed by different countries. The above facts significantly demonstrate the feasibility of this proposal. It is worth noting that the later international standards are published, the more difficult it is to be compatible with existing standards developed by individual countries. Considering that there are no other international organizations engaged in the research and development of the proposed standards, this work needs to be undertaken immediately.
