The main focus is on polymerase chain reaction (PCR) based amplification methods.
This methods have been established for DNA analysis of food matrices, but could also be applied to other matrices (e.g. seeds, feed and plant samples from the environment).
ISO/TC 34/SC 16 and WG 14 have discussed how to proceed with a revision of ISO 21569:2005 and ISO 21569:2005/Amd 1:2013. A committee internal ballot in SC 16 ended with the proposal to split off the annexes of the former standard into a new separate document (see ISO/TC 34/SC 16 document N 1725), which is proposed here.
