Scope

This part of IEC 61535 specifies PV installation coupler systems up to five poles including earth, if provided, with a rated voltage up to and including 500 V AC for permanent connection in outdoor applications of electrical PV-installations.

Purpose

In PV systems, components such as PCE are increasingly used in the direct vicinity of the PV modules. This means that these components are exposed to the same harsh environmental conditions as the PV modules and their components. In contrast to the components on the DC side of a PV system, such as the PV modules, but also the PV (DC) connectors, PV junction boxes or PV cables, there have been no special requirements for the components on the AC side in terms of durability or resistance to weathering.
