Scope

This International Standard defines the general principles to be applied to method of magnetic flux leakage testing (MFLT) of products and ferromagnetic materials in order to ensure defined and repeatable performance.

Purpose

Italy and China have MFLT standards for individual applications. However, there is no general principle for MFLT as an international standard. JISC would like to propose the NP, based on the general principles for MFLT established by Japan, to become an international standard by incorporating the opinions of each country.
