Scope

This part of IEC 63XXX specifies terms and definitions, and test methods of the short-term reliability and durability of vibration energy harvesting devices under the typical environmental conditions or the environmental stress, especially temperature and humidity. This document specifies test methods and test conditions for measuring the reliability of a vibration energy harvester under specific environmental conditions of temperature and humidity. This measuring method is independent of power generation principles (such as piezoelectric, electrostatic, triboelectric, electromagnetic, etc.).

Purpose

When a vibration energy harvester is used for an extended period under actual operating conditions or harsh environments, its output performance characteristics (power, voltage, resonance frequency, etc) is usually changed for long-term use. Therefore, it is important to standardize the characterization and reporting schema of environmental reliability.
