Scope

This standard specifies a method to determine the release of metals from porcelain enamels which are intended to come into contact with foodstuffs.

Purpose

A specific part 3 of EN 1388 "Materials and articles in contact with foodstuffs - Silicate surfaces" should be developed to cover specific requirements on the determination of the release of metals from for porcelain enamels
