Scope

This international technical specification defines the testing safety requirements for PV modules for system voltages up to 3 000 V DC.

Purpose

Testing safety requirements for PV modules for system voltages up to 1 500 V DC are defined in IEC 61730 2. There is interest in the PV industry to define such requirements for higher system voltages for modules to be used for ground-mounted large scale solar plants with restricted access.
