Scope

This international technical specification defines the constructional safety requirements for PV modules for system voltages up to 3 000 V DC.

Purpose

Constructional safety requirements for PV modules for system voltages up to 1 500 V DC are defined in IEC 61730-1. There is interest in the PV industry to define such requirements for higher system voltages for modules to be used for ground- mounted large scale solar plants with restricted access.
