This document is applicable to recyclable bulk Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet resources from end of life (EOL) products and manufacturing process.
Recently, the fast development of some green energy industrial such as wind turbine and electric vehicle accelerates the demand of neodymium iron boron (Nd-Fe-B) sintered permanent magnet, which is key materials for many traditional and emerging industries. As a result, the amount of recyclable bulk Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet resources from both end of life (EOL) products and manufacturing process increases rapidly. To date, several technique routes had been applied to recycle the bulk Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet resources. Nevertheless, two undesirable problems were found in the current recycling. First, the magnetic properties of the recycled Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet are usually worse than those of the original magnet. Second, some recycling techniques involves low resource utilization rate, large energy consumption, and heavy environmental burden. Such problems substantially hinder the application and trading of recycled Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet. Therefore, standardization of recycling recyclable bulk Nd-Fe-B sintered magnet resources is urgent to improve the undesirable situation. Meanwhile, providing resourceful strategy for recyclable bulk neodymium iron boron sintered magnet resources is consistent with the goal of sustainable development.
