This document specifies the test method to verify that plastic tableware manufactured by thermoforming or injection moulding process can be used at least 5 times after each dishwashing process. It also specifies the test method to verify the minimum number of uses that can be made of the article after each dishwashing process.
Compliance with this standard does not exempt from compliance with the current legislation on plastic food contact materials
In relation to Directive 2019/904, regarding single-use plastic products, this proposal could be foster the reduction of the environmental impact of certain products. This proposal of standard specifies the test method to verify that plastic tableware can be used a minimum of times. It defines reusable plastic tableware and promotes the reduction of the consumption of single-use plastic tableware.
