Scope

This European Standard specifies the specific requirements for the design and construction of tanks for the storage of liquefied anhydrous ammonia.

This European Standards deals with the design and manufacture of site built, vertical, cylindrical, flatbottomed tank systems for the storage of refrigerated, liquefied gases with operating temperatures between 0 °C and –196 °C

Purpose

Current EN 14620 Part 2 was published in 2006. Over last 17 years the industry saw significant developments in the field of Refrigerated Liquified Gas (RLG) storage. The industry has a demand to update the current standard as follows:

- bring it up-to-date with current industry requirements

- incorporate latest new developments

- upgrade the requirements related to public safety. Part 7 is a new additional Part, which is a sub-set of EN 14620 – Part 2.

Part 7 contains additional requirements to Part 2 required to deal with the specific requirements associated with Anhydrous Ammonia
