ISO/NP 20599 Forestry machinery — Manually Portable (hand-held) Powered Lawn and Garden Equipment and Forest Machinery — Engine performance and fuel consumption

Scope

Standardize a method for testing the performance and fuel consumption of internal combustion engines used to power manually portable (hand-held) powered lawn and garden equipment and forest machinery, including chain-saws, hedge trimmers, brush-cutters, grass-trimmers, pole-mounted pruners, and edgers. The document will replace ISO 7293:2021 and 8893:2021 when published.

Purpose

The purpose of the new standard is to combine similar engine performance and fuel consumption requirements found in ISO 7293:2021 and 8893:2021. The document will replace ISO 7293:2021 and 8893:2021 when published. ISO/TC 23/SC 17 has agreed to move forward to develop the combined standard with the intention of sunsetting 7293 and 8893 once this new “combined” standard has been published.
