Scope
This standard specifies the compatibility design and assessment for remotely-handled components of magnetic confinement fusion reactor. This standard is applicable to the design and assessment stages of compatibility between the remote handling maintenance equipment and the components of Magnetic confinement fusion reactor.
Purpose
Remote handling technology of Magnetic confinement fusion reactors is recognized as one of the key technologies to be solved on the road to commercial fusion reactors. The compatibility design and assessment for remotely-handled components of Magnetic confinement fusion reactor is very important to improve the reliability of fusion reactors and the implemention of remote handling systems. At present, there is no relevant standard to guide the compatibility design and assessment for remotely-handled components of Magnetic confinement fusion reactor and the remote handling system.
This standard is developed based on the summarization of the experience of remote handling components design under the nuclear fusion environment. The development and implementation of this standard will fill the gap of relevant standards and guide the compatibility design and assessment of components in the field of nuclear fusion and ensure their compatibility with remote handling technology.
The establishment of this standard not only provides technical guidance for the implementation of remote handling system of fusion reactors, but also accumulates technical experience for promoting the application and industrialization of fusion technology in the future.
