Scope

The deliverable is to specify requirements for stainless steel abrasives, as supplied for blast-cleaning processes. The standard will specify ranges of particle sizes, together with corresponding grade designations. Values will be specified for hardness, density, defect/structural requirements, metallographic structure, and chemical composition.

Purpose

Standard for stainless steel abrasive is missing also this product is available on the market from different manufacturers. Customers refer to ISO 11124 series when they ask for such abrasive. Manufacturers need such standard to support the sales.
