This document facilitates clear and consistent comparisons of realistic charging capabilities of EVs via commercially available electric vehicle supply equipment. It provides details about test conditions, test methods and test processes derived from typical use cases. Furthermore, requirements regarding the information to the user are specified.
For the purposes of comparing charging capabilities of electric vehicles (EVs), a unified methodology of reporting the charging rate is needed. The comparison of different EVs and the traceability of the charging performance need to be based on comparable, plausible and reproducible parameters. This document will provide common test procedures for different charging systems to consistently measure capabilities of EVs for the consumer and media to use for clear comparisons.
