Standards Development
This document defines terms for drilling machines and foundation machines including those terms related to their applications, working methods, machine types, and main components of the machines.
This document also provides commercial specification information for these machines.
This document is applicable to:
— mobile drill rigs for civil and geotechnical engineering
— foundation equipment including piling machines
— diaphragm walling equipment
— jetting, grouting and injection equipment
— interchangeable auxiliary equipment.
This document does not apply to:
— machines specifically designed for mining application (rock drilling, raise boring, jumbos, etc.)
— horizontal directional drilling (HDD) machines (covered by ISO 21467:20041)).
To update and enlarge the terms, definitions of the various machine types involved in drilling and foundation and their relevant commercial specifications, to serve as a basis for the safety standards and to give World-wide recognition of the machines to facilitate market exchanges
