TC59X/Sec0790/NP Household refrigerating appliances - Characteristics and test methods - Part 2: Performance requirements

Scope

This part of EN 62552 specifies the essential characteristics of household and similar refrigerating appliances cooled by internal natural convection or forced air circulation, and establishes test methods for checking these characteristics.

This part of EN 62552 describes the methods for the determination of performance requirements. Although there is some commonality in the set-ups for different tests (and so it may be an advantage to apply them all to one sample), these are separate tests to evaluate specific characteristics of the sample being tested. This part of IEC 62552 does not specify a procedure to generalise the results from sample test results to a prediction of the characteristics of the whole population from which that sample was selected.

Purpose

Changes to EN 62552-2:2020 are required to reflect the new standardization request M/xxx and to be in line with the IEC 62552-2:2015/AMD1:2020.

Some editorial changes to enhance coherence are to be integrated as well.

This document amends EN 62552-2:2020.

It includes the following significant technical changes with respect to:

- variable temperature compartment:setting to determine the energy consumption aligned with EU regulation

- freezing capacity: 4 star qualification criteria aligned with EU regulation

- Modification of the Figure 5.a

- Modification of the temperature rise test

- Annexes ZZ related to (EU) 2019/2016 + 2021/340 and (EU) 2019/2019 + 2021/341 will be revised accordingly
