As existing standard but add sockets to BS 6396

Purpose

The proposed revision will address the following clauses

Scope; add sockets to BS 6396

Scope; review rated voltage and rated frequency (to 60Hz)

Scope; Protection devices other than fuses

Scope; Revise range of permitted screwless terminals

Cl13.11 Switch use

Table 1; Test sequences; correct errors

Cl 6.2.8 Classification of S/Os for Vehicle charging

Cl7 correct x-refs

Cl 8.1 review to align with BS 4662

Cl 8.4 Replace Std refs with Table

Cl 11 update cable capacities

Cl 13 revise to cater for new switch designs & Wiring clearances

CL13 Switches and electronic components

Cl 15 Disconnecting electronic components

Cl 16 revised temp rise test

Cl 19 revised conductor capacities

Cl 20 Additional IP ratings, revised acceptance criteria, new materials

Cl 21 New definition for brass

Cl26 cyclic loading test for single sockets

Annex I revise to include ‘DCP’
