ISO/TC 20/SC 16 N 246, ISO/NP 4358 Test methods for civil multi-rotor unmanned aircraft system

Scope

This standard specifies the test methods for civil multi-rotor UAS and its components. This standard is applicable to the design, manufacture, testing and certification of small and light civil multi-rotor UAS and its components (the maximum take-off weight is less than 150 kg); other types of UAS can also be implemented by reference.

Purpose

Multi-rotor UAS is the most popular UAS in the market at present, but products with quality from good to bad are intermingled, so it is necessary to evaluate the function and performance of its products. At present, there is no unified standard test method and means to evaluate and test the multi-rotor UAS. Therefore, it is necessary to formulate test method standards for civil multi-rotor UAS to provide basis for product testing and certification, so as to improve the product quality, reliability and safety of the whole multi-rotor UAS.

The development of test methods for civil multi-rotor UAS can provide guidance for UAS design, development, identification and production test.
