This is proposed as a subsidiary part standard to the ISO 21858 - Information Model for Mixed and Augmented Reality Contents. Possible styles specifiable as specific to MAR contents may include, but not limited to: object size, absolute/relative position, opacity/transparency, color, animation effects, contrast adjustment, and visibility. The conditions for such styles may include but not limited to: lighting condition, neighboring obstacles and moving objects, absolute/relative target/context object size, user/camera movement, etc.
- Mixed and augmented reality (MAR) contents comprise mainly of the specification of the target object to be augmented, and the augmentation object itself. Since MAR system is used and its contents presented in mobile and dynamic situations, the styles and forms of the augmentation should ideally vary to fit the situation. This way, MAR contents with the flexible style specification can be created for different user groups and operating conditions so that maximum usability is ensured.
- As the style and form of the augmentation are not the content itself, they should ideally be separated. Instead, they should be defined on its own be referred in the contents as necessary. This is the approach that the web document standard HTML and style standard CSS has taken. This way, the overall content specification will be less confusing and cleaner. The styles can be reused for efficient contents creation as well. As such this standard is proposed as a part standard to 21858 whose objective is to specify the MAR content itself.
