The intention of the standard is to promote low carbon, high efficiency heat networks.
It sets out the minimum provision in the design and manufacture of HIUs to safely deliver heating, cooling and hot water within domestic and commercial heating and cooling systems.
It specifies requirements for the construction, performance, safety, testing, installation and commissioning of HIU connected to an individual or widespread Heat Network.
This standard covers;
Indirect tertiary heating and cooling systems up to 3bar pressure.
Domestic hot water (Sanitary) systems up to 10 bar pressure.
Heating and Cooling Networks up to 16bar pressure and 95°C.
Substations up to 16bar and 105°C.
