Scope

Replace the eighth paragraph starting with "As far as is practicable …" up to “…children playing with the appliance.” with the following:

“This document deals with the reasonably foreseeable hazards of intended use presented by appliances, which are encountered by all persons, and domestic animals in and around the home.”

Convert the paragraph starting with “Attention is drawn to the…” into Note Z101. 

In the fourth paragraph starting with “Examples of appliances…”, add the following list item:

“—   Pot coffee-makers”

Add the following Notes Z102 and Z103 after the paragraph starting with “Appliances intended for normal household…”:

NOTE Z102 Examples of appliance for household environment are appliances for typical housekeeping functions used in the household environment that can also be used by non-expert users for typical housekeeping functions: 

—   in shops and other similar working environments; 

—   in farm houses; 

—   by clients in hotels, motels and other residential type environments; 

—   in bed and breakfast type environments. 

NOTE Z103 Household environments include the dwelling and its associated buildings, the garden, etc. 

Addition:

With European amendment A11, EN 60335-2-15:2016[1] is superseded.

This European amendment A11 supplements or modifies the corresponding clauses of the standards below:

— EN IEC 60335-1:2023[2] (Part 1)

— EN IEC 60335-2-15:2026 (Part 2)

This document contains requirements for appliances with radio function, remote communication, and remote operation. 

For the scope of this document, the term “radio appliance” is used with the same meaning of “radio equipment”.

For the scope of this document, the term “appliance” is used with the same meaning of “equipment”.
