This document is providing common rules to be used with product specific rules (PSR) for environmental declaration for electrical accessories in the scope of TC23 and Sub Committees given in separated part 2. It specifies the process and requirements on how to conduct life cycle assessment (LCA) in the context of environmental declarations. It is intended to be used along with the product category rules for life cycle assessment of electrical and electronic products and systems as specified in IEC 63366:2025. It shall be used for environmental data coming from the LCA, in the context of environmental declarations covered by:
• ISO 14021:2016/Amd 1:2021 Environmental labels and declarations: Self-declared environmental claims (Type II environmental labelling)
• ISO 14024:2026 Environmental labels and declarations: Type I environmental labelling. Principles and procedures.
• ISO 14025:2006 Environmental labels and declarations: Type III environmental declarations. Principles and procedures.
ISO 14026:2017 Environmental labels and declarations: Principles, requirements, and guidelines for communication of footprint information.
• Other ISO and IEC standards regarding environmental declarations related to additional aspects, for example ISO 14046:2014 on water use, ISO 21930:2017 on construction works, and IEC 63372:2026 on greenhouse gas emission reduction.
