Scope

This PAS specifies requirements for the traceability and handling of deforestation- and conversion-free (DCF) soy and soy-derived materials within supply chains irrespective of the market in which the soy or soy-derived materials are placed or used.

This PAS applies to soy and soy-derived materials used in:

•           animal feed, including feed for livestock, aquaculture and pet food;

•           food for human consumption; and

•           non-food applications, and industrial products.

This PAS covers supply chain activities from the point of first aggregation through to final processing, including storage, transport and handling, and transformation where mixing or substitution might occur.

This PAS also covers the downstream transfer of output designations relating to DCF soy once it has been made into a finished product (e.g. compound feed, food products or other manufactured goods).

This PAS does not apply to:

•           on-farm production requirements;

•           traceability upstream of the point of first aggregation;

•           biofuels; or

•           non-soy ingredients or commodities.

NOTE The lean chain of custody (CoC) (see 11.8) applies only to the DCF soy content within a product. It does not extend the scope of this PAS to the non-soy ingredients of a product nor does it impose requirements on the non-soy components of a product.
