Scope

UAS Type of Identifier Code and Graphical Symbol Graphical Symbol and Code by type of Uncrewed Aircraft System.

This document provides graphic symbols (pictograms) for UA configurations and other UAS features, allowing visual identification and facilitating compatible use and identification between the relevant systems.

The document provides graphic symbols to facilitate understanding of nonverbal information related to the UAS, including, but not limited to, the following:

a)       Public information on commercial materials on UA restrictions along the streets of parks or other UAS geozones.

b)       Safety signs.

c)        Technical product documents, including manuals, user guides, web-based technical instructions, or documents supporting declarations of conformity.

d)       Used in equipment including the display portion of the remote pilot station (RPS), on the work position of the fleet manager, or any display used in the ATM or UTM and CISP System and ANSP System.

e)       Print or display the type of UA that the remote pilot can operate with a graphic symbol on the UAS license ISO 22460-1.

This standard specifies the category (e.g. fixed-wing aeroplane) and level related to each graphical symbol depicting Uncrewed Aircraft (UA). The standard applies to the overall development, design, production, operations and maintenance of UAS, as well as to depiction of UA in ATM or UTM and CISP System and ANSP System or counter UAS systems and more.

The graphic symbols in this standard can be used individually or in combination to meet specific needs related to the state or the aircraft or its components, warning, red alert, etc. For example, a graphic symbol of an aircraft part that was operating in a normal state, after a detected malfunction can be changed to an orange warning sign. This could be the case e.g. if the temperature changes rapidly. A red alert can be used if a dangerous state is reached.
