Scope

This document specifies a method for evaluating the functionality and performance of the non-manually actuated chain brake on electric-powered chainsaws (including battery powered) and chain-saws with internal combustion engine. For electric powered chainsaws, the pertinent provisions of IEC 62841-4-1:2017 ED1:2017, IEC 62841-4-1/AMD1 ED1 and IEC 62841-4-9 ED1 shall be considered.
