Overview: Under the direction of the Standards Policy and Strategy Committee, EPL/76 is responsible for the UK input to the preparation of international and European standards for equipment (including systems) incorporating lasers, light emitting diodes and other optical radiation sources. The scope includes the preparation of standards and technical reports applying limits as determined by organizations such as the International Commission on Non- Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) and the International Commission on Illumination (CIE), to human exposure to optical radiation (180 nm to 1 mm) from artificial sources. Additionally it includes personal protection against laser radiation and other intense light sources. This committee mirrors the work of IEC TC 76, CENELEC TC 76 and CEN/TC 85 WG3
