This document provides definitions and specifies the acceptable limits of common surface irregularities for molded inductors. The purpose of this standard is not to specify electrical performance, magnetic performance, reliability, safety requirements, or general product dimensions.
It is intended to support communication and quality agreement between manufacturers and users of molded inductors (Hereinafter referred to as inductor).
Molded inductors are widely used in the electronics industry and serve as essential basic parts for the electronic sector. Benefiting from their superior comprehensive performance, they are extensively applied in multiple key fields including new energy, artificial intelligence, communication networks, consumer electronics and aerospace.
Requirements regarding the surface appearance of molded inductors may vary depending on the manufacturer or user. So far there is no relevant IEC standard. Developing this standard is conducive to the establishment of a more perfect standard system for ind uctors, to improve the technical and quality level of related products.
