This document specifies requirements, such as configurations and specifications, of testing environment for the evaluation of power conversion equipment (PCE) for use in photovoltaic power systems with or without energy storage.
Testing procedures and conditions are specified in other parts of IEC 63409 series.
Depending on scale of voltage/current capacity or testing purpose of power conversion equipment under test, configurations and capacities of testing environment can be selected with appropriate validations.
In this document, testing environment is focused on physical testing environment for actual-size PCE product.
This document of this issue is mainly focused on testing environment for IEC63409-3 basic operations test.
The main purpose of Part 2 is to specify testing environment for the evaluation of grid connection requirements for PV-PCE.
Figure 1 shows IEC 63409 series documents configuration.
This document gives testing environment for the test procedures specified in documents in IEC 63409 series.
Test procedures for basic power control functions in PCE is covered in Part 3 (IEC 63409-3).
Test procedures for responses of PCE against abnormal grid conditions is covered in Part 4 (IEC 63409 4).
Test procedures for power quality of the PCE output will be covered in Part 5 (IEC 63409 5).
Test procedures for power flow control and grid support functions will be covered in Part 6 (IEC 63409 6).
Test procedures for responses against commands through communication will be covered in Part 7 (IEC 63409 7).
