This European Standard defines the determination of energy indicators of district energy systems. District energy systems may be district heating, district cooling or other district energy carriers.
1. Standard values for primary energy factors and emission factors in Annex B play an important role for the users of this standard. These values reflect average conditions in 2010, esp. the primary energy factor of electricity taken from Directive 2012/27/EU. An update is required.
2. The calculation of the renewable share of district cooling should be aligned with new provisions in Directive 2023/2413 (RED), Annex VII.
