Standards Development
The deliverable will be a survey of which standard IFC propertysets and properties defined by bSI and which user-defined/custom propertysets and properties are used on the European market. In addition, the survey aims to find out whether different project classes (e.g., clinics, administrative buildings, etc.) and project sizes (<500 m², <1000 m², <5000 m², >5000 m²) have an impact on propertysets / properties used.
Furthermore, it will examine in which use cases, at what point in time (project phase) which propertysets/properties are used.
Design and construction of our built environment are often performed by small and medium sized engineering and construction companies. In order to facilitate the use of the BIM method for these stakeholders in particular, the evaluation of the survey should serve as a basis for their own projects. The goal could be a web-based tool on which data models used in defined project types can be recognized and reused/adapted.
