This document specifies requirements for supply chain data to be interoperable.
The following are within the scope of this document:
— character encoding used in supply chain interoperable format;
— rules for naming files in supply chain interoperable format;
— the rules for formatting interoperable data in the supply chain;
— using an open concept dictionary to ensure that supply chain data is unambiguous with meaning clear, supporting interoperability.
The following are outside the scope of this document:
— the information to be represented by the supply chain interoperable format
This document specifies requirements that make supply chain data interoperable. These requirements support the data to represent unambiguously the information that organizations use in managing their supply chains. Interoperable data are important to organizations because these data can ensure other applications can use the information represented by the data.
This document supports activities that affect:
— one or more supply chain information systems;
— supply chain data flows within the organization and with external organizations;
— any phase of the supply chain data life cycle.
Organizations can use this document on its own or in conjunction with other parts of the ISO 25500 series.
